A video with the reverse effect, also known as a “reverso”, is a type of film which is developed, printed, and then re-wound so that the image is displayed in a negative fashion. The first video to be recorded in this way was a short film that was made in 1910 by the French filmmaker Louis Le Prince. It was a short film entitled Le Petit Thorey, and was also called La Symphonie in reverse.

The technique of recording in reverse began to be used in the 1970s. It was used mainly in film, and later, this technique was also used in video and, more recently, in digital photography. It is possible to record in reverse using existing video technology. It is not necessary to use a special video camera, it is possible to use a normal camera that can record in reverse.

There are a number of advantages to recording in reverse. For one, it is much easier to develop and print film that is recorded in reverse. The film can be saved and re-wound for later use, which is not possible with a film that is recorded normal. Another advantage is that the image that is recorded in reverse is much more clear than an ordinary film.
